Without meaning to sound like a broken record (after all, many of our previous posts have been counting down to this), we thought we better inform our regular readers that realtime search is now available through Twitter!
Over recent months, the guys over at Twitter, have been developing and testing realtime search - a major advancement to the online search environment. Prior to last week, when the facility was introduced to the right-hand panel of all accounts, Twitter search was only accessible through the search subdomain, - but it's great to finally see the capability being introduced properly - for all to make the most of!
The search facility is fully expected to improve the online environment further, providing a platform from which businesses can monitor their online reputations and brands, and the general public can find out what the topic of conversation is at any given time.
Clearly, through offering such an attractive search facility, it becomes interesting to see how Twitter will rank search results. Many within the industry are throwing around the idea of a Twitter search algorithm - meaning the company is moving rapidly into Google territory, and provides us (Search Marketeers), with another medium to consider when promoting and improving the performance of a website.
As always, you can follow us on Twitter, and stay tuned to this blog for the latest Twitter advancements!
